Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare DLC News: DLC Pack 2 'Ascendance' Arrives March 31

On March 31, Xbox One and Xbox 360 players will be the first to receive the second downloadable content pack for "Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare," according to game developer Sledgehammer Games and publisher ActiVision.

Prior to this, however, the DLC pack 2 called "Ascendance" can also be previewed at the 2015 Call of Duty Championship on March 29, which will be broadcast through Xbox Live and other broadcasting partners, according to a report in Tech Times.

Even before the new content hits game consoles, descriptions about what to expect are already available online, through various reports on gaming websites. The Tech Times report says that "Ascendance" will include "four new multiplayer maps, a bonus weapon, a custom weapon variant and the new Exo Grapple ability."

The four new maps will feature the use of "Exo abilities" and "the next chilling entry in the Exo Zombies experience," was the description that Sledgehammer's Michael Condrey gave. The maps are named Perplex, Site 244, Climate and Chop Shop.

Perplex is situated in "a five-story modular apartment building that constantly changes as construction drones move the apartment's modules." Site 244 is set in Mt. Rushmore "where a crashed alien spaceship has spilled mysterious cargo." In Climate, players will find themselves in "a man-made, climate-controlled enclosure, with a river that changes from being friendly to harmful." In Chop Shop, players have to fight it out in "an industrial complex, with the map's scorestreak allowing gamers to secure certain areas through an Advanced Repulsion Turret."

The Exo Zombies game was first introduced in the first DLC pack "Havoc." In this DLC pack, the game will have a new episode where players can play with John Malkovich, Bill Paxton, Rose McGowan and Jon Bernthal as they fight off hordes of zombies.

In terms of new weapons, "Ascendance" will feature the OHM directed energy light machine gun-shotgun hybrid weapon, while the custom variant is for the OHM Werewolf. The Exo Grapple on the other hand was described as something that "gives players a faster way to reach strategic vantage points or a brutal secondary weapon to take down the competition."

The "Ascendance" DLC Pack can be bought for $15. Season Pass holders who paid $49.99 for the four DLC packs for the year will get instant access to the DLC pack once available.
