'Call of Duty: Black Ops III' Will Penalize Players For Cheating

"Call of Duty: Black Ops III" game developer Treyarch has unveiled its Security & Enforcement Policy that can get players suspended or banned. This mainly applies to players choosing to play in the multiplayer mode of the game.

The multiplayer mode has always been the focus of "Call of Duty: Black Ops III" even though there is a single-player campaign. Treyarch has said that to make the multiplayer campaign enjoyable for all, cheaters will not be tolerated and those who try to spoil the game will be meted out punishments ranging from being suspended for a few hours/days to being banned.

Treyarch has clarified that the infractions will be subjected to a review process by the Treyarch security team and then the suitable penalty will be applied.

The penalties, according to Treyarch, are as follows: "Temporary suspensions can range from 48 hours to two weeks or longer, depending on the severity of the infraction. Permanent suspensions are lasting and final. A minor offense is one in which no quantifiable damage has been done to another user or the game community at large. Extreme offense is one in which a player has caused detriment to other users or has organized large groups of users to commit additional offenses."

Other infractions have also been detailed and they include hacking and modding by using unauthorized third-party software. This also includes any software used to "deliberately modify game data on disk or in memory."

Next, the matter regarding pirated content. Treyarch is very clear that a user who has illegally acquired "Call of Duty: Black Ops III" will be penalized.

There are also some users connecting to unsupported peripheral devices and applications to manipulate game statistics. This will be considered an infraction and either the player's leaderboard score will be deleted or they will be banned from the leaderboards.

Players displaying offensive behaviour by using derogatory and racially abusive language, cyber-bullying and creating offensive emblems/paintjobs will also be penalized.

Regarding content, DLCs have to be obtained in the proper way and unlockable content has to be accessed through the rules and regulations laid down.

Players have been advised to go over the rules and regulations before entering the multiplayer campaign.
