'Call of Duty: WWII' Latest News: Game to Run on 4K and HDR Xbox One Enhancements?

A recently updated listing from a UK retailer has revealed that "Call of Duty: WW2" will be enhanced for the Xbox One X running on 4K and HDR.

Activision and Microsoft have yet to confirm whether or not "Call of Duty: WW2" will benefit from the Xbox One X enhancements. But a recently updated listing from GAME, a UK retailer, has revealed new box art indicating that the game will also be running on the 4K and HDR enhancements for the Xbox One X. With this being said, players could only expect the game to be more visually compelling.

What's interesting, however, is that "Call of Duty: WW2" is not listed among Microsoft's official list of game titles that would be enhanced for the Xbox One X.

It is no secret that developer Activision currently has a deal with Sony, particularly with PlayStation, that allows the platform to receive game titles a month before other consoles. Because of this, players could only expect Activision to prioritize the enhancement of "Call of Duty: WW2" for the PS4 and the PS4 pro. What was previously uncertain, however, is whether the same thing can be said for the Xbox One X or not.

Game titles that will be enhanced for the Xbox One X will receive packaging that indicates those enhancements. In GAME's list, the box art for "Call of Duty: WW2" revealed as such but like any other packaging, this could be subject to change. Therefore, players, especially those who just purchased the Xbox One X, should still be on the lookout for updated news regarding the matter.

As for "Call of Duty: WW2," it looks like the franchise has veered away from featuring futuristic battles in favor of portraying a more historical aspect of playing. However, since the game would be depicting World War II, players could only expect blood and gore.

"Call of Duty: WW2" be released on the PS4, Xbox One and PC on Nov. 3.
