Calvin Johnson Breaks Records in Cowboys Defeat

Calvin Johnson, wide receiver for the Detroit Lions, proved naysayers wrong on Sunday by helping his team beat the Dallas Cowboys 34-30.

Johnson contributed to the game by making two touchdown catches in the fourth quarter on Sunday, helping his team secure a win. In what was a comeback victory, Johnson made NFL history as the second player to make two touchdown catches in four consecutive games.

Although Johnson’s team have been able to get away with making late comeback plays in the past few games, the WR said he cannot rely on his team beating the odds all the time.

"We still have a lot of stuff to clean up," Johnson said, according to The Los Angeles Times. "The way we've started the last two weeks, that's really unacceptable."

For the first time in over 30 years, the Lions’ are 4-0 thanks to the win on Sunday. After being down 20-0 at halftime, some are starting to marvel at the team’s closing abilities.

Kyle Vanden Bosch, defensive end for the Lions, credits the comeback performances to the mentality of his team.

"There's definitely something special going on here," Bosch said, according to detnews.com. "I like the attitude and the fight of this team. There aren't many teams that would've kept believing and kept fighting. Nobody is going to roll over and quit, but we kept saying, 'We just need a big play, just need a big play.' And we got it."

Eric Wright, Lions’ cornerback, said although Romo’s issues on the field may get more attention than his team’s successes he was proud of the fight in his team.

"However they want to write it is how they're going to write it. We have no control over that. But we just continue to fight and press the way we normally do,” Wright said, according to The Detroit Free Press. “We dug ourselves in a huge hole. We have to stop doing that, but we found a way to win again, and that's all that matters. We won the game."
