The defending Super Bowl champs will look to navigate their way past a revived Carolina Panthers team that will give them a stern test.

Over the past five seasons they have faced off four times in total, with Seattle winning all four regular season games, which also includes a tight 13-9 win in Week 8 in this regular season.

The fact that the Seahawks are at home means they are massive favorites to progress. Over the past three seasons, Seattle are an amazing 24-2 at CenturyLink Field - an impressive stat that includes postseason football.

However, the Panthers are not here to just make up the numbers, and they are entering today's game on the back of five straight wins, and looked impressive in last week's Wild Card Round game against the Arizona Cardinals, which they won 27-16.

In their game against the Cardinals, the Panthers' defense was immense, limiting Arizona to a Playoffs record low 78 total yards.

Over their past five games, Carolina have averaged 197 rushing yards and allowed just 11.8 points and 238.2 yards per game.

However, the Panthers' defense will not get the Seahawks nervous. Seattle have a powerhouse defense of their own, and over their last six games they have held opposition teams to an average of just 66 rushing yards and 136.2 passing yards.

Today's big game between the Seahawks and Panthers will start at 8.15 p.m. ET and can be watched on TV on the Fox TV network, or online through live stream by clicking here.
