'Castle Rock' Air Date, Plot News: J.J. Abrams, Stephen King Share Mysterious Teaser
Bad Robot Productions has recently released a mysterious teaser trailer for a new Hulu original series from popular author Stephen King and executive producer J.J. Abrams.
As reported by IGN, the official Twitter account of Bad Robot posted a photo featuring Abrams' stationary bearing a handwritten note.
"What is the hoax in the forest?" the note reads, which also includes a Youtube link that leads to a teaser for "Castle Rock."

King also shared the "Castle Rock" teaser on Twitter, warning his followers on the social media site to "be afraid" since the show will be arriving soon.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, online streaming service Hulu has ordered the production of "Castle Rock." The show will reportedly be an anthology series which brings together different characters and various themes from King's written works. Should multiple seasons be made, the TV show will center on different groups of characters every season while also incorporating various elements from previous seasons.
Castle Rock is a fictional location in Maine and also serves as the site of several stories written by King such as "The Dead Zone" and "Cujo." The place is also referenced in King's other works, including "It" and "Pet Semetary."
In the trailer, King's other works such as "The Shawshank Redemption," "Misery" and "The Shining" are also referenced. Hence, it remains unclear how many of King's novels and short stories will be tied to the online series.
As reported by Coming Soon, the "Castle Rock" series serves as a reunion project of Hulu, King, Bad Robot and Warner Bros. Television. They previously collaborated on the event series "11.22.63," which is also based on King's novel. The series will stream exclusively in the United States on Hulu, while it will be distributed by Warner Bros. Worldwide Television Distribution globally.
Additional information on the upcoming series such as its premiere date has yet to be revealed.
