'Castle' Season 6 Spoilers: Baby Born While Ryan is Alive?
Tonight marks the return ABC hit show "Castle" and it seems the show will start the year off with high suspense. Kevin Ryan, played by Seamus Dever, is set to become a father, but he has to survive first. Will he make it to his baby's birth alive and well? The actor recently sat down with TV Guide for an interview in which he discussed tonight's episode of "Castle."
"We thought there would be high jinks with getting to the hospital and getting that phone call [saying his wife was in labor]. It turns out Andrew Marlowe, our creator, put us in a lot of danger before it's revealed that the baby is even going to come. It's crazy. The stakes are very high. I think they're hoping it starts off the new year with a bang," Dever said.

Dever went on to reveal what he believes "Castle" writers have in store for his character and his wife's relationship.

"I know Andrew likes the idea of seeing the progression of things," Seamus Dever says. "Esposito might never get married and doesn't even have a permanent girlfriend. Ryan is very settled and going to be a dad. So, on the [relationship] scale, we're polar opposites and Castle and Beckett are somewhere in the middle, heading towards marriage and babies and things like that. I think it's fun for [the writers] to play off of that," Dever said to TV Guide.
"Castle" airs Mondays on ABC at 10/9c.
