Channing Tatum News: Actor Joins Cast of 'Kingsman: The Golden Circle,' No Update on His 'Gambit' Movie Yet

While his earlier slated Gambit role in an eponymous film is yet to begin its filming, thanks to the problems with the script and many other reasons, Channing Tatum will deliver his acting chops first via the movie "Kingsman: The Golden Circle."

The actor revealed his inclusion in the film via Twitter earlier this week , although he did not mention what role he will be playing. Nonetheless, it is speculated that he will be one of the Statesman agents in the movie.

The movie is a sequel to the first "Kingsman" movie shown last year, "Kingsman: The Secret Service." It is a movie based on the comic book of the same title. The story follows the story of potential secret agent Gary "Eggsy" Unwin (played by Taron Egerton) as he is recruited and trained for a secret spy organization.

Now that Tatum is joining the movie, too, "Kingsman: The Golden Circle" boasts of a more stellar cast composed of Egerton, Julianne Moore, Halle Berry, Colin Firth, Mark Strong, Sophie Cookson, and Pedro Pascal.

The movie is slated for a June 16, 2017 release date.

Meanwhile, as of this writing, there is still no update on Tatum's "Gambit" movie which will usher him into Marvel Cinematic Universe. According to a report of last month, filming of the movie has been delayed anew because of the problems on its script. Initially, the movie was slated for an October release this year, but it was reported that filming of "Gambit" will not commence earlier than December later this year.

The standalone film feature on the X-Men character has been undergoing some rough challenges. In September last year, its original director, Rupert Wyatt, dropped the project supposedly because of the state of the movie. Reportedly, even Tatum himself threatened to back out from the film.

Even though the film has a new director, Doug Liman, cameras cannot start grinding for the "Gambit" movie as Liman is slated to work on another film, "The Wall," before he lends his directorial expertise to "Gambit." With Tatum's inclusion in "Kingsman: The Golden Circle," fans can only wonder if "Gambit" will be further delayed.
