This has been expected of the Bulls but the Mavericks have been a surprising team this season. This storyline has made for an interesting match-up in Illinois.
Chicago are currently buoyed by the leadership of Jimmy Butler, who has taken the reins as the best player of the team due to Derrick Rose's injury-plagued career significantly slowing him down.
Butler has been very reliable and gets the job done on both ends of the floor as he is a potent offensive weapon, as well as an energetic defender who is up for the challenge against the stars in the same position.
While Rose has slowed down, he still shows glimpses of his former self, and when he is on his game, the Bulls have been difficult to beat with a deep team full of talent.
As for the Mavericks, Dirk Nowitzki has shown that age has not slowed down or affected his patented jump shot as he is still as effective as ever. He may not be as quick or as physical as he once was, but his height and range still makes him one of the most dangerous players in the league.
The two teams have already met earlier in the season in Texas, which resulted in a big 118-111 win for the Mavericks and they are now trying to win the regular season series over the Bulls.
