'Chicago PD' Season 4 Episode 15: Ruzek and Voight Face Off Over Demotion

Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) is ready to work again, but he will not be happy with the arrangement the boss has made in the upcoming episode of "Chicago P.D."

In the episode titled "Favor, Affection, Malice or Ill-Will," the synopsis reveals that Voight (Jason Beghe) will give Ruzek his first assignment after his undercover mission. The agent is back after going AWOL for several episodes. It was revealed that he was working on a clandestine operation. This explained why Ruzek was not around when Burgess (Marina Squerciati) was welcomed as the newest addition of the Intelligence Unit. Their brief meeting last episode brought hope to those fans who want to see them back together.

Ruzek was Olinsky's (Elias Koteas) partner before he went on leave. Now that Olinsky is assigned to train Burgess, Ruzek will find himself in an uncomfortable situation. Voight's decision to demote him to patrol duty will particularly irk him. Before her promotion, Burgess was a patrol officer. Although Ruzek is happy that she is now living her dream of working in intel, he has no wish to be her replacement. He will likely seek a dialogue with the boss, but chances are, Voight will not change his mind.

Meanwhile, Squerciati recently told CarterMatt that viewers would soon see some resolution to the Burgess-Ruzek connection. She hinted that the way her character acts around Ruzek is not the same with what she truly feels. Burgess must still be in love with her ex, even after everything that took place between them.

"The way Burgess acts surprises her. I always love that, when a character acts in a way that they don't think they're going to act. We all have these ideals about how we would act in a certain situation, but they don't come to pass because we're human and certain emotions run wild. I'm excited to see what the audience thinks when that resolution happens," Squerciati said.

"Chicago P.D." season 4 airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. EST on NBC.
