Chris Brown Mystery Woman Identified As Karrueche's Best Friend? Singer Confirms 'I'm Single'

Chris Brown was photographed leaving a movie theater with a mystery woman on Monday and while reports claim the singer was on a romantic date, it is understood that the woman is actually a close friend of Karrueche Tran.

On July 22 Brown, 24, was spotted outside the ArcLight Theater in Hollywood and photos of the singer walking alongside a mystery woman immediately went viral. Contrary to media speculation, the mystery woman was not the singer's date and she has since been identified as Tran's best friend, Erin.

"Some things are just too stupid to speak on. We know," Erin tweeted July 23 in response to rumors of her and Brown.

Tran, who has dated Brown on-and-off since 2011, was reportedly also with the pair at the movie theater however she was not photographed.

"She was. Duh," Erin tweeted in response to a follower who asked why Tran was not also at the movies.

On Saturday, just days before the group's movie outing, Brown confirmed that he is single. The singer also revealed that he and Tran are still good friends despite their rocky past.

"[Fans have] seen me on and off again with different girls, you know who they are, but right now, as a 24-year-old man, I just choose to be single!" Brown told HollywoodLife.com in reference to a love triangle involving Tran and Rihanna.

In October Brown admittedly ended his relationship with Tran over Rihanna and in May he reportedly ended his relationship with the Bajan singer over Tran. He is now believed to have platonic friendships with both women.

"I'm still good friends with them," Brown confirmed. "[Now] it's just me being focused with my music and doing this stuff. Right now, I'm in my prime."

Although Tran and Rihanna have both previously mocked each other on Twitter, the aspiring model reportedly no longer has issues with the pop star.

"She has a mutual respect for Rihanna. Remember, she and Rihanna were in this triangle with Chris before, so if anybody knows what Rihanna is feeling, it's Karrueche. She's been in her shoes before," a source said after Rihanna and Brown's May split.
