Christina Aguilera Pregnant, Expecting Child With Fiancé

Christina Aguilera announced her engagement almost a week ago, but it turns out "The Voice" mentor has even more happy news on the way.

The 33-year-old singer is not only engaged to Matt Rutler, but the pair are also expecting their first child together, reports indicated on Friday.

"They're very much in love and are really excited to take this next step," a source close to the couple said, according to People.com.

Aguilera is already the mother of six-year-old son Max Liron from her previous marriage to Jordan Bratman. The Grammy Award-winner has been with Rutler for almost three years, and lately, she had taken measures to spend more time with family and focus on her music career. Aguilera will not be returning to season six of "The Voice," making way for Shakira to join the show.

Meanwhile, Rutler, a film producer, proposed to the "Genie in a Bottle" singer on Valentines Day, Feb. 14.

"He asked and I said…." Aguilera posted to Twitter last week along with a photo of her enormous new engagement ring.

It comes as no surprise that Aguilera and Rutler are engaged since the singer has gushed about her beau in the past, citing him as a pillar of strength while critics raged over her weight.

"Women, we are definitely under a microscope and under massive scrutiny," the singer explained suring a Television Critics Association event for "The Voice" back in 2012. "As long as I am happy in my own skin, that is all the confirmation [I need]."

Nevertheless, the approval of someone special in her life also helped Aguilera deal with weight fluctuations.

"I have a boyfriend that loves my body," she said, referring to Rutler. "I love my body, my son is healthy and happy and that is all that matters."
