Cissy Houston Warned About Whitney's Death by Holy Spirit?

Cissy Houston has revealed that the Holy Spirit warned of her daughter Whitney Houston's early death, and also visited her days after the singer died.

In the funeral program used to commemorate Houston's death, Cissy wrote a letter to her late daughter. In the letter that began with "Dearest Whitney," Houston's mother admitted something that she never shared with the singer.

"I never told you that when you were born the Holy Spirit told me that you would not be with me long and I thank God for the beautiful flower he allowed me to raise and cherish for 48 years," Houston wrote to her daughter.

The elder Houston spoke about being depressed for months before her daughter's death and being visited by a spirit after.

"For two months now I have been depressed, crying, lonesome and sad not knowing why. On Saturday, before I found out about your transition, my doorbell rang," Cissy wrote in the funeral program. "I called the concierge to tell him someone was ringing my doorbell. He checked the cameras and told me that no one was there."

For Cissy, the incident was evidence of her daughter's promise.

"You promised me you were coming to spend time with me after the Grammy's," she wrote to the younger Houston. "I believe the spirits allowed you to come after all."

Although Houston felt she was visited by the spirit of her daughter momentarily, she was also sure that Whitney was with Jesus.

"Thank you for being such a wonderful daughter," she wrote. "Rest my baby girl in peace; you're now in the arms of Jesus."

According to Houston, it was God's time to take her daughter, who she called "Nippy," at 48 years old.

"God said it's time Nippy, your work is done," Houston wrote in the program. "The other day on Feb. 11 He came for you. But not without warning."

Whitney Houston's funeral took place Feb 18. at New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, N.J.
