Speaking about the relationship between Gus and Johnny in the film, director Robert Lorenz has said, "They're friendly. When Johnny was a ballplayer, Gus scouted him."

He also reveals that Johnny often helps Gus overcome his problems with his daughter. he explained: "At every moment she's ready to throw it in, Justin's character is there to sort of remind her of the value of continuing to pursue their relationship."

The film will also be the first time in nearly two decades since Eastwood appeared in front of the cameras in a film not directed by himself. The highly heralded actor has increasingly found himself in the director's chair behind the cameras, but when he has chosen to step out from the shadows behind the scenes he has been the director of the movies himself in recent times. The last time that he appeared in a film that he was not directing was the 1993 thriller "In the Line of Fire."

Eastwood is one of the most respected actors and directors in Hollywood and commands a fearsome presence and respect wherever he goes. He has gathered millions of fans across the globe who will be delighted that he has chosen to make his official comeback on the big screen.
