'Code Vein' News: More Details About How Armor Choice Affects Gameplay Revealed

The player's choice of armor can greatly impact which style of play will work best for them

Combat in "Code Vein" will not be easy, as the enemies that players encounter will not just be laying back and waiting to be attacked.

Enemies can quickly take down any players who venture into a dungeon unprepared.

What that means is that players will need to have good armor equipped if they are going to survive in this game.

It is not quite that simple, however, as pieces of armor can assist players in different ways.

The new details about how pieces of armor work inside the game were revealed during a recent event attended by producer Keita Iizuka, director Hiroshi Yoshimura and action director Yuichi Yoda, Siliconera reported.

As stated by the developers, players have the option of equipping pieces of armor that are designed to provide higher defense. When they have this type of equipment on, they can withstand the attacks of their enemies better. These tougher pieces of armor may even save them from what would otherwise be fatal blows.

There is a downside to wearing those pieces of armor, however, as "Code Vein" players may not be as mobile during combat. This means they may find it tougher to evade the attacks of their enemies.

Notably, players also have the option of wearing different kinds of armor that are better suited for enhancing their mobility. These presumably lighter pieces of equipment should enable them to move around quicker on the battlefield and thus give them a better chance of avoiding attacks altogether. Players who want to use armor of this kind will have to constantly be aware of their surroundings, however, as they may suffer greatly from a single hit.

It is also possible for players to strike a balance between defense and mobility if that is what they prefer.

More details about the different pieces of armor included inside "Code Vein" should be made available in the near future.
