Conor McGregor Fight News: 'The Notorious' Reiterates Loyalty To UFC, Shuts Down Reports About Starting Own Promotion

Current UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor reiterated his loyalty to the UFC, its president Dana White, and owners Lorenzo and Frank Fertitta.

According to a report by Damon Martin for FOX Sports, "The Notorious" was said to be at odds with the UFC's top brass because of a supposed disagreement regarding his salary for his title fight at UFC 196 against champion Rafael dos Anjos.

But in a recent interview with Severe MMA, the 27-year-old brash Irishman shut down the said rumors and maintained that he will continue fighting under the UFC banner.

"It's all horse s*** that is," McGregor said. "I have a great relationship with Lorenzo (Fertitta), I have a great relationship with Dana (White). Don't get me wrong, I'm climbing that corporate ladder every damn day and we will be neck and neck."

"Maybe one day I will take that lion's share but we will always be together," he added.

McGregor has been one of the UFC's biggest draws and top talents. His most notable victory was against former long-time featherweight champion José Aldo at UFC 194 in December in Las Vegas. After finishing the fight within a mere 13 seconds via a single straight left that landed on Aldo's left jaw, McGregor's stock value immediately shot up, as expected.

He then went on to call out dos Anjos and challenged him to put his lightweight title on the line, in which both the Brazilian champion and the UFC agreed to making. This has left the likes of former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar in disarray, as he was promised a shot at the featherweight title, as well.

For his part, McGregor says while he remains loyal to White and the Fertitta brothers, he is also eyeing on "getting his share of the pie" eventually.

"I will always be in association with Zuffa and the great team at the UFC," McGregor said. "It's an honor to grow with this company."
