As police were still investigating the shootings that killed 20 children and six others inside a Connecticut school, private funeral services were being held for two six year old boys Noah Pozner and Jack Pinto, classmates at Sandy Hook Elementary. Meantime, family and friends of the suspect, Adam Lanza, said he suffered from a social disorder characterized by a lack of empathy for others. The question is what can be done to prevent similar tragedies? Dr. Irwin Redletter had this to say:

Author and spiritual guide Deepak Chopra says most of the survivors will recover but that probably won't be the case for everyone.

So, the gun control debate is back in the spotlight. Some legislators want to curtail the sale of assault weapons while others want MORE guns. Andrew Spencer has the details.

A group of residents in Newtown, Connecticut have gathered to channel their grief into action. Kyung Lah has the story.

In California meantime, a cash for guns program helped take dozens of weapons off the streets.
The turnout surged, organizers say, because police teamed with youth groups. Jeff Pierce explains how.

However, the Oregon mall and Connecticut school shootings have started a new conversation about gun control. Wayne Havrelly reports, that some gun enthusiasts are rushing to stock up.
