April 10, 2012|10:24 am

At least 38 people were killed in Nigeria as a suicide bomber detonated powerful explosives in a car, outside "All Nations Assembly Church" in Kaduna. It was during an Easter service. Although no group has claimed responsibility for the attack, local Christians suspect the Islamic Terror Group "Boko Haram" is involved. The group has now gained technical sophistication and weaponry with help from other such groups like al-Shabaab in southern Somalia and al-Qaida. Back on Christmas Day, a Catholic Church was attacked in Nigeria killing at least 25 worshippers.

Rick Santorum's daughter was admitted to the hospital . The Three-year-old toddler Isabella suffers from a chromosomal condition called Trisomy 18. According to the National Institutes of Health, half of patients born with the condition don't survive the first week of life.  The Republican presidential candidate's daughter was hospitalized with pneumonia in January.  It has been announced now that Bella was released from hospital, allowing Santorum to resume his presidential campaign.

A group in Britain called Christian Concern has launched a new campaign urging Prime Minister David Cameron to back up his recent words of support for Christianity with some solid action. At a private 'Easter Reception' at Downing Street, Cameron told a group of senior church leaders that the nation needed Christian values and that he supported a "fight back" against rising secularism. Critics have noted: Cameron's Government submission to the European Court of Human Rights, were NOT in favor of four Christians regarding their freedoms. In one case, a counselor had an issue with giving sex therapy to a gay couple; and in another case, a woman was asked to remove her cross in the workplace.

Intelligence officials in South Korea say North Korea is planning another nuclear test, making it the third. the north is also getting ready to launch a satellite into orbit. But South Korea, Japan and the US believe the launch is a front for a ballistic missile test. North Korea is determined to prove its critics wrong, so it opened up the launch site to foreign journalists.

A very disturbing story: a photo of a fetus said to be aborted at nine months in a hospital in China has attracted widespread attention on the internet. Critics insist the photo and its story are typical of the one-child brutal philosophy in that country to control the population. Full term babies are reportedly being forcefully aborted each year. In some cases, the mother dies. According to abortion stats published on the website--- "All Girls Allowed ": 13 million abortions are performed in China each year, which is close to 35,000 per day.

A Muslim ad has sparked debate—even outrage-- among some Toronto Transit riders. The ad reads "There is No god but allah". Toronto Transit spokesman Brad Ross says the ad does not violate the Human Rights Code" and it could not be rejected because it espouses one view on religion. According to the "Islam Info Centre", which posted the ad , the main purpose was to raise awareness of Islam. A spokesman for that organization reports…. having received many inquiries about the religion. A Christian group is now working on a counter ad campaign.

As Ontario politicians continue to debate Bill 13 that would force Catholic schools to launch gay clubs, a Member of Provincial Parliament Glen Murray has lashed out against Ontario's bishops over Catholic teaching on homosexuality. Murray declared the Bishops will no longer be allowed to teach the Catechism doctrine that homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered. Bill 13 is anti-bullying legislation geared to be inclusive, but the Catholic board is fighting it, and has received support from many Christian denominations who call it a violation of religious rights.
