Meanwhile, the show is set to cast a new female UnSub, and according to TVLine, the character on paper is not someone that one would think of as being a brutal person, or someone who is capable of leaving a "trail of carnage in her wake."

The character is described as being a very attractive and successful career woman in her thirties, and often gives in to her impulses.

Several guest stars have also been announced to make an appearance on the new season of the show, and it has been reported that Kerr Smith of "Dawson's Creek" fame is slated to appear in the first episode titled "X'." Smith will play Frank Cowles, an acromotophile, or someone who has a sexual fetish focused on amputated limbs and amputees.

"Jericho" star Alicia Coppola has also nabbed a guest role in the show, and TVLine reports that she will appear in the fourth episode of the upcoming season as Lisa Randall, the head of a Morgellons Syndrome support group who's "willing to go as far as she can to protect group members' privacy."

Season 10 will also see the addition of a new character, Kate Callahan, who will be played by "Party of Five" alum Jennifer Love Hewitt. Her character will be introduced while she's working undercover on a case.

"Criminal Minds" season 10 premieres on Oct. 1 on CBS.
