'Criminal Minds' Season 10: Season Finale Recap, 'The Hunt'

The season finale of "Criminal Minds" was a thrilling episode as it sees Kate's niece Meg and her friend being kidnapped, and the BAU suspects that the perpetrator is an online predator engaged in sex trafficking.

Last week, we saw Meg and her friend Mikayla planning to meet up with the mysterious Bobby. Bobby texts Meg to tell her that his mom is going to pick them up, and when a van pulls up with a woman inside, the two teenagers get in.

Picking right off where the last episode left off, Meg realizes that something's not right and decides to send Kate a message that reads "Pepper", which happens to be their secret code if one of them is in danger. However, she only gets to text "pepp" as another person in the van knocks them out.

Kate checked with Mikayla's mom, who told her that she thought the girls were at Kate's house. Kate then has Morgan track down Meg's phone and they find footage of the girls getting into the van. Reid says that perhaps they were targeted online.

Immediately, Kate begins to blame herself for not noticing the signs. First was Meg's change of attitude, which she thought was because of the fact that she was expecting a baby and perhaps Meg was jealous of it. Another red flag was when Mikayla and Meg were stood up for a date by two guys.

The BAU tracks down Bobby's picture, and Kate recognizes the photo as it had been used in a previous case, which involves a woman claiming to have met the man of her dreams online only to disappear and months later, the woman was found dead.

Later, they find out that there were other cases similar to the victim and that most of them died in what the police thought were accidents.

At the UnSub's hideout, Meg and Mikayla walk into a room with their hands bound. Meg comes up with a plan, and she gives Mikayla a chance to run. Mikayla ends up getting help from a woman at a nearby house, and she is reunited with her mother. She tells JJ and Hotch about Meg's plan and tells them the location where she is being held.

Later, Meg shows up on the auction site, and the highest bidder, who paid $29,000, looks at her photo on his computer screen as he contemplates on ways to torture and kill her. The head of the sick operation, Alex, advises the buyer to kill Meg the same way that he did the others.

Meg is chained up in the buyer's torture chamber, and as the buyer approaches her, the BAU burst through the doors to arrest him. Morgan brings Meg back home to Kate.

Two weeks later, Kate stops by Hotch's office to hand in her resignation. She said that she isn't leaving because of what happened to Meg, but because after her sister died, she took a year off work to bond with Meg and basically become her mother figure. Kate tells Hotsch that she wants to have the same experience with her new baby too.
