'Daredevil' Season 2 Cast News, Update: 'The Walking Dead' Actor Jon Bernthal Joins Netflix Action Drama as The Punisher
Netflix and Marvel just announced that the second season of the superhero drama series "Daredevil" will see the involvement of The Punisher to be played by a "Walking Dead" cast member.
According to reports, actor Jon Bernthal has recently locked in the deal to play the popular Marvel antihero known for his violent ways in fighting crimes.
Like the titular character, The Punisher is a vigilante whose aim is to clean up New York City's Hell Kitchen from the unlawful through use of brute and oftentimes deadly means.

Before he became the Punisher, Frank Castle was a Marine who witnessed the tragic death of his beloved wife and children while they were at picnic in Central Park.
Seeking lawful justice, Castle realized how corrupt and numb the city's police are. Using his lethal skill set and arsenal of weapons, he decided to take the matters on his own hands and adopted the persona of The Punisher.
"Jon Bernthal brings an unmatched intensity to every role he takes on, with a potent blend of power, motivation and vulnerability that will connect with audiences," Marvel's Head of Television, Jeph Loeb, said in a statement. "Castle's appearance will bring dramatic changes to the world of Matt Murdock and nothing will be the same."
It remains to be seen how Charlie Cox's Daredevil will interact with the more brutal and aggressive newcomer in the upcoming series.
For the meantime, "Marvel's Daredevil" Season 2 will be available for streaming on Netflix in 2016.
