'Daredevil' season 2 spoilers: Matt and Karen romance is a definite possibility
Last season, "Daredevil" ended on a relatively happy note as Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), along with his friends Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson) and Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll), prepares to officially open their law firm. Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio) is now currently sitting in a tiny cell, while his fiancée Vanessa (Ayelet Zurer) leaves the country with his ring. Could she become the next Kingpin? Fans will find out in the next season.
The upcoming season will introduce two new characters, The Punisher and Elektra. Elektra does become an ally and a lover to Daredevil eventually. Actor Jon Bernthal from "The Walking Dead" series will play The Punisher, while actress Elodie Young from the movie "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" will play Elektra.
In the new season, fans will get to see a possible romance between Matt and Karen as a leaked photo from the set went viral on social media. In the photo, Matt and Karen can be seen standing on a street all dressed up and holding hands. So, did the pair go out on an actual date or are they undercover? Fans will not know the answer to that until the show returns.

Some more photos from the set were shared on Twitter. The photos show some action-packed scenes as The Punisher fought a man with a gun at some sort of carnival. He was not in his costume during the scene, but it did not deter him from fighting crime. The Punisher is a hero with a different approach than that of Matt's as he kills criminals something that is against Matt's moral fiber. So, at this point, it is not clear if The Punisher will be a hero in the series or not. Fans will just have to wait and see.
Chief creative officer Joe Quesada mentioned how great it was to have Jon Bernthal and Elodie Young on board. He believed that Bernthal was the perfect actor to go toe-to-toe with Cox since they are both world-class actors. He added that Young embodied the ideal vision of Elektra and that her experience in action movies made her the best choice.
There is no official date yet for the return of the series, but there is speculation that the second season will air sometime next year in April.
