Dashcam Truck Crash Reminds You to Never Use Your Phone While Driving (VIDEO)
The skies and road were clear as Ralph Ireland and his wife Ifka Filipovich cruised on a Winnipeg highway on Saturday. The jewelry store owners were on their way to present a check to the Ronald McDonald House. It was going to be a good day.
And then a truck pulls up to a stop sign down the road. No problem – until it becomes a huge problem as the large pickup and trailer turn left onto the road, directly in front of the couple. Ireland tries to slow down, but it's too late.
The offending truck driver was fortunate that Ireland steered their Chevrolet Duramax into the bed of his truck. A direct hit on his door might have killed him. It appears that no one was seriously injured.
As the video rolls, we hear the driver apologize, admitting, "It was totally my fault." No doubt, but how could he have missed Ireland's large Chevy truck barreling down the road? Just look at the photo above: He was on his phone.
Let's all learn this lesson together: Don't make or take the call while you're driving. It's a matter of life and death.
