David Letterman News: Retired Host Sports Bigger Frame and a Beard

Sporting a long beard and a bigger frame, David Letterman was recently spotted on the Caribbean island of St. Barts as enjoying a jog.

On Tuesday, photos of Letterman emerged online, giving fans the startled look as they browsed through images of the now retired CBS host. According to CNN, the images reveal a bald and bigger Letterman, who also featured a heavy beard. While many of his fans think he has changed over the past months, he gave a smirk to the cameras, somehow giving the world an idea that he is enjoying his retirement despite the changes his body is experiencing.

10 months ago, the 68-year-old host said goodbye to his 33 years on national TV. Ever since he left television, he has been keeping away from the public though he did make a few appearances including his participation in Michael J. Fox's event to fight Parkinson's disease last November.

Letterman was once an active Twitter user but fans noticed that he has not posted anything since July. While his latest photos might mean that time is quickly showing its aging signs on him, one particular fan on Twitter noted that he "looks happy."

On Wednesday, additional photos emerged showing him and his wife, Regina Lasko, doing some grocery shopping. The former talk show host held a bag of strawberries and according to U.S. Weekly, he resembled Santa Claus.

After his May retirement, Letterman said he doesn't think he will ever return to the network's building but he did remember the moments he spent for more than three decades with the staff and the people who worked on his show.

Letterman has hosted a total of 6, 028 episodes for both "Late Night with David Letterman" on NBC and "Late Show with David Letterman" on CBS. His career began as an anchor and weatherman for an Indianapolis station and he later received his firth morning comedy show on NBC.

During his career, Letterman received over 50 Emmy nominations and four American Comedy Awards.
