Denise Richards has extended her support to Brooke Mueller by offering to care for her children while she battles addiction this week.

Both women have children they share with Charlie Sheen, making them unusual friends.

Mueller reached out to Richards for help with twins Bob and Max, aged 3, for "an indefinite period of time," according to TMZ.

"She was diagnosed with exhaustion and dehydration and is now fine and resting at home, that's it," explained Mueller's representative Steve Honig to USA Today.

The 35-year-old is rumored to be battling her addiction to Adderall, a drug used to treat attention deficit disorder.

"Brooke was uncomfortable with the way Adderall was making her behave," Mueller's attorney, Yale Galanter, told TMZ. "Brooke continues her lifelong battle with drug addiction by taking these steps to prevent a further drug relapse."

This is not Mueller's first bout with addiction. The socialite has entered rehab 19 times before, according to USA Today.

Moreover, Mueller's twin boys have stayed with Richards before.

"This isn't the first time the boys have stayed with Denise for a length of time," said one source speaking to E! News. "Denise would do anything for those kids."

Each of Sheen's ex-wives shares two children with the actor. Richards was married to Sheen for four years until 2006 and shares daughters Lola and Sam with him. Sheen went on to marry Mueller in 2008, but the pair divorced last year.

Meanwhile, Sheen is busy filming the television series "Anger Management."

Richards also has daughter Eloise, who she adopted last year.

An animal lover, Richards made headlines last month after she adopted a dog left behind after Hurricane Sandy.

An animal lover and mother to three daughters, the actress decided to not only urge others to take in the animals in need, but brought one home herself.

"During their visit Denise and her family fell in love with Tara the Labrador Mutt-i-gree puppy and welcomed her into their home," a message on the North Shore Animal League's Facebook read.
