Destiny Multiplayer Mode News, Details: New Crucible Mode Does Away with Supers, Weapon Bonuses and Radar

A new multiplayer mode could soon be implemented into Destiny, according to reports. Fans will see the new Crucible mode devoid of super abilities, radar tracking system, as well as weapon bonuses.

The news came after a Reddit user posted online about his/her acquisition of a Grimoire card which cited a mode called "Inferno."

VG247, who later picked up the story, wrote that the card describes "Inferno" as a "modified variant of multiple Crucible match types" which, as revealed, will leave players to rely solely on their weaponry and combat skills alone.

Here's the full statement written on the card.

"A modified variant of multiple Crucible match types, Inferno tests your Light against the darkest of conditions.

"Darkness prevails, leaving Guardians to rely on their weaponry and combat skills alone. The enemy can only be found by sight and sound alone. Rely on your teammates and keen tracking to stalk your enemies and shut them down without the trust in your most powerful abilities.

"True skill put to the ultimate test. No trackers. No Supers. No bonuses. Only kills earn points," the site stated.

The site meanwhile noted that this news has to be taken with a grain of salt as Bungie still has to release an official announcement on the issue.

The report, as expected, garnered mixed reactions from what appears to be players of the game. In one hand, there are those who favor the radar tracking and the supers. For the other side of the camp, they see the development as quite a good move for the studio to bring the "old-school" style of shooting game, "much like CoD or Halo," according to one user.
