Destiny PC Release Date Rumors: March 2015 for PC; Out Now for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One

Bungie's "mythic science fiction" open world FPS game Destiny released on Sony's PS3 and PS4 as well as on Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Xbox One on Sept. 9, 2014. However, the video game won't be available for PCs for some time, if at all.

Destiny's' design lead director Lars Bakken shed light about the lack of PC version.

"I wish it was that simple," he told Eurogamer. "It's pretty complicated. That doesn't mean it can't happen in the future, it just means it won't happen right now."

It has been previously revealed that developing Destiny on four consoles was already a big challenge for them to face because they did it themselves and was not outsourced to any third-party developers.

"This is a huge and ambitious project for us, and just getting it on one console would be a momentous challenge. Getting it on four on the same day is something we've never even tried before. We wanted to get it right, and we didn't want to add in tons more risk," Bungie COO Pete Carsons said.

"We love the PC. We hear it too. We ask the question of ourselves," the company head added.

But for those who still hope for a PC version, earlier reports cited Steam Database, which puts on the details of the purported PC port for Destiny. It says the game will be available in "March 2015."

"Again, no announcements, but it's something that's a heavy point of discussion. And you asked how we are dealing with the complexity of developing for so many platforms, how about one more on top of that?" Activision CEO Erik Hirshberg told Polygon.

"Developing on PC is a different animal than developing for consoles and so we just want to make sure that we're putting one foot in front of the other and getting it right, and that it's of the highest possible quality," the publishing house CEO added.
