Detroit Lions vs Buffalo Bills takes place in an NFL Preseason 2013 game on Thursday night in the final game for the teams before the regular season gets underway. The game kicks off at 7 p.m. ET and can be watched online through free live stream (details below).

The Bills hit a bit bump in their preseason preparations last week when they were trounced by the Washington Redskins 7-30. That will have been a firm reality check for the team following their two good wins earlier in August.

Buffalo seemed to be flying after gaining a great 44-20 win in Indianapolis on Aug. 11. They then did well to claim a tight win at home to Minnesota in a 20-16 game.

However, things fell apart in a big way last week when they were not even able to hit double figures, and conceded 30 in a bad loss to the Redskins. That will have shown them just how much more work is needed if their season is to go as they like.

The Bills now return home to face Detroit before hosting the New England Patriots in their opening game of the season on Sept. 8. They will want to get back to winning ways tonight so that they have momentum again heading into the season.

Meanwhile the Detroit Lions head into this game with a preseason record of 2-1 so far, and enter the game high on confidence following last week's massive 40-9 win over the New England Patriots.

However, despite that very good win they will know how important consistency is coming into the regular season, and their preseason form has been spotty so far. They gained a good 26-17 win at home against the New York Jets on Aug. 9 before getting well beaten on the road to Cleveland 6-24.

They will want to build on their great game against the Patriots last week with another win today, and know that if they lose again today much of the momentum from their big win last week will be lost.
