The Detroit Red Wings will play the Chicago Blackhawks in the NHL on Sunday night in one of the games of the day. The Blackhawks will be desperate to end their current slump in form with a win tonight. The game will start at 7.30 p.m. ET and can be watched online through free live stream (details below).
The Blackhawks have slipped down the West standings in recent weeks due to a slump in form and they will want to get a grip of things again as soon as possible. Despite their bad form they come into tonight's game with a record of 38-15-14.
The Red Wings meanwhile are hoping to extend their playoff streak to 24 seasons, and will want to maintain that push with a win tonight in Chicago.
These teams competed in the West semi finals last season, and saw Chicago come back from a 3-1 deficit to take the series in Game 7. Fans will remember Brent Seabrook's overtime goal as one of the major highlights of last season as the team went on to its second Stanley Cup title in the past four seasons.
Detroit have not had to travel back to Chicago again since then, but they do so tonight and will be hoping to regain the initiative.
The Red Wings are currently just outside the East playoff positions, and have lost four of five prior to Friday's 2-1 shootout win over Edmonton.
Babcock said after the game, "Huge (win). Howie, obviously, in the shootout, bailing us out was a real positive for us. It gives us some confidence."
