'Digimon Adventure tri.' Movie 6 Release Date, Spoilers: Final Installment in Movie Series to Be Released in Early Summer 2018

The sixth and final title in the "Digimon Adventure tri." movie series is arriving next year, and a new key visual art has just been released to tease fans about what's coming next.

Titled "Bokura no Mirai (Our Future)," the upcoming Japanese anime movie is reportedly being teased at the end of the most recent installment, "Co-existence," which has begun its three-week theatrical run in Japan last Saturday, Sept. 30.

There is currently not much detail about the said movie other than the fact that it will be shown in the early summer of 2018. The information has since been confirmed by Toei Animation, the Japanese animation studio that is producing the six-part movie series.

Additionally, a key visual art has also been revealed for the sixth movie, depicting a rather intriguing scene. In it, the first generation DigiDestined can be seen reaching out to the newest DigiDestined, Meiko Mochizuki, as she and her Digimon partner, Meicoomon, fall into the void.

An intense battle is definitely coming up after the events of the fifth movie, wherein the Real World was ultimately engulfed by the Digital World. With the threat of the newly merged Raguelmon — the mega evolved form of Meicoomon — and Ophanimon Falldown Mode — the mega evolved form of an angry Ophanimon — and the group leader Tai now nowhere in sight, the remaining DigiDestined are forced to battle through their pain and grief in order to save the world.

Will they be able to still fulfill their duties when all hope seems to be gone?

The fifth movie is currently being shown in theaters in Japan and will later be released on Blu-ray and DVD versions on Thursday, Nov. 2.

More details about the upcoming sixth movie will be released on the movie series' official site at a later date.
