On Thursday Joe Biden will attempt to reinforce arguments made by Michelle Obama and former President Bill Clinton about why Obama is still the man the country needs for the next four years.

Biden has at times been a divisive character and has been an off-script vice president. However, he is expected to attempt to give thousand of delegates and millions watching at home, a personal account of Obama from behind the scenes at the White House. He is likely to try and portray the president as a man who has taken brave decisions amid adversity and troubled times, and as someone who if given more time can bring the United States back out of its economic woes.

It is also likely that Biden will look to contrast Obama with Republican nominee Mitt Romney; attempting to characterize Obama as a man not afraid to make tough decisions, while at the same time making the case against Romney as someone not suited to making difficult decisions.

Analysts are saying Biden will look to attract the white, working class voters, by relating to them and trying to convince them that he understands their problems.

Over recent weeks Biden has attempted to promote major landmarks in Obama's presidency, looking to take credit for the killing of Osama bin Laden, and helping General Motors. Both of those issues have been somewhat divisive, however, and some have accused the Obama camp of trying to take credit for things he has had little input in. However, Biden nevertheless has relentlessly gone on this path of promotion, saying regularly in his campaign appearances: "Osama bin Laden is dead and General Motors is alive."
