'Doctor Strange' cast news: Rachel McAdams and Mads Mikkelsen roles revealed?

Ever since its Disney D23 expo show, more comic book fans and moviegoers have leveled up their curiosity and excitement over "Doctor Strange," with some asking for more information after news surfaced that Rachel McAdams has been cast for the movie, as well as news that Mads Mikkelsen is eyed for a lead role.

Benedict Cumberbatch is "Doctor Strange" himself and joining his team are award-winning actors Tilda Swinton and Chiwetel Ejiofor. This time, another big name has been confirmed to join the roster: the beautiful Rachel McAdams.

Collider says McAdams will most likely play the role of Clea, the Sorcerer Supreme's apprentice-slash-love interest-slash-wife-slash-successor in the comic books. The rumor has not been confirmed just yet.

Clea is a member of one hierarchy known as the "Dark Dimension," a very significant realm for Dr. Strange. The books portray that his biggest nemesis, Dormammu, resides in that universe. McAdams being cast to play the role of Clea gave some fans the idea that Mads Mikkelsen just may be cast to play Dormammu.

A report by CrossMap says Mads Mikkelsen, the famous Hannibal Lecter, is rumored to be in talks for the character of a villain against Dr. Strange, possibly Dormammu, who is portrayed as one of the most powerful and magic-bearing villains in the Marvel world.

The doctor himself describes Dormammu as his "most terrible foe, a threat to the life of the universe itself," the statement giving fans more fuel to speculate that Mikkelsen just may bag the role, considering his striking performance as a cannibal doctor.

Marvel, nor Mikkelsen, has confirmed the rumor, but Ejiofor is confirmed to be an antagonist in the movie. On the other hand, watchers say once McAdams' character is confirmed to be Clea, Dormammu's appearance in the movie just may be inching closer to reality.

Until additional information is dished from Marvel or the stars themselves, fans just may want to wait until the release of "Doctor Strange" on Nov. 4, 2016.
