'Doctor Who' News, Update: 12th Doctor Peter Capaldi to Attend Panel at San Diego Comic Con
Peter Capaldi, who played the 12th regeneration of the Doctor in the hit science fiction TV drama series from BBC, "Doctor Who," is confirmed to be in attendance for the most awaited panel session of the show in San Diego Comic-Con International event this summer.
A report from Screen Rant cited BBC America's announcement of Capaldi's involvement. The actor, according to the site, will also be joined by fellow Season 9 stars Jenna Coleman, who plays the character Clara Oswald, and Michelle Gomez, who plays the role of Missy.
It has also been found out that head writer Steven Moffat and executive producer Brian Minchin will be in attendance.
"Tales of San Diego Comic-Con are told in awe on every set around the known fantasy/sci-fi production world. It's become a fabled kingdom. One I am thrilled to find myself heading for. And to appear in the legendary Hall H, is a further twist to the cosplay and comic madness I may never recover from," Capaldi told the press.
Moffat previously confirmed that Doctor Who will continue to run through the year 2020, which means fans will get to see more of the Doctor for at least another five years.
As for the current, and soon to premiere Season 9, it has been reported that it will open with a two-part arc in episodes "The Magician's Apprentice" and "The Witch's Familiar."
To reiterate, "Doctor Who" will return this fall on BBC America. The said panel event, on the other hand, will take place in Hall H on Thursday, July 9.
