A new documentary following ten students to Egypt to decode the ancient world using clues from the Bible will be released this summer.

Thinking Man Films Production is making the new youth-oriented DVD series, "Patterns of Evidence: Young Explorers," following the success of the award-winning adventure documentary "Patterns of Evidence: Exodus."

"Patterns of Evidence: Young Explorers" follows 10 students as they journey on an exploration into the world of ancient Egypt and the Bible, looking for ancient clues in the biblical text which prepares them for face-to-face encounters with Egyptologists and archaeologists. The series targets youth from 8-15 year olds.

The first episode, "Abraham's Promise," releases on DVD in August. For this series, filmmaker Timothy Mahoney rides on the success of his award-winning documentary, "Patterns of Evidence: Exodus." His first journey in proving the Exodus in the Bible took an in depth, 12-year archaeological investigation in Egypt and Israel. Although many scholars and archaeologists deny the validity of the Exodus story for lack of proof, "Patterns of Evidence: The Exodus" builds a case that sheds new light on the account.

Mahoney's intent is now to inform the next generation by providing historical and archaeological proof and make it available to them.

"In today's culture there is strong opposition to the validity of the Bible," Mahoney said in a statement to The Christian Post. "These attacks are often aimed at young people in the areas of science and history. Even in some Christian circles there is a trend to downplay the Bible as an accurate historical account from creation onward. However, the Christian faith is uniquely built on God acting through history, and the entire Bible's teachings flow from that reality. That is why 'Patterns of Evidence: Young Explorers' is so important today! It demonstrates compelling evidence that affirms the trustworthiness of the Bible."

Episode one of the DVD series, "Abraham's Promise," will introduced viewers to 10 young students who meet filmmaker Mahoney on a wilderness camping trip and learn about his investigation for physical evidence of Moses and the Israelites' Exodus out of Egypt. By the end of the weekend, every last one of them then eventually joins Mahoney on a quest to explore the Bible.

Before each new adventure, they are given special invitations to read their Bibles and look for clues in the text. Once prepared and studied up, they experience face-to-face encounters with ancient evidence and real archaeologists.

The youth may have been led to think that their journey ends there but Mahoney has a secret device called the "Exploration Chamber." The chamber is a digital hologram space and it allows the young people to enter into a virtual reality experience, exploring important places and events mentioned in the Bible to find a pattern of evidence that matches six different major events of the Exodus account.

"It's a faith-affirming journey establishing the historical credibility of the Bible that could change their lives forever," Mahoney says.
