Donald Trump Full Speech Transcript at RNC 2016 [VIDEO]: The Text and the Address Summary

"Humbly and gratefully" accepts nomination

With minor deviations from the script that was circulated earlier, Donald Trump's acceptance speech for the 2016 Republican National Convention highlighted topics that we expected – and then some. For over an hour, Trump talked about the ills in the American society and what he is going to do to correct it.

Donald Trump was introduced by his daughter Ivanka Trump, the most visible Trump child in the campaign trail. She highlighted how her father is "color blind and gender neutral" in a bid to tone down her father's opponents accusation about Trump being racist and misogynist.

Trump took pains in trying to unite the party amidst the crisis that the nation is now embroiled at. He talked about how terrorism and the recent attacks against the police are threatening every American's way of life.

He downplayed Ted Cruz's refusal to endorse him and vaguely mentioned the incident instead talked about how he is best person for the job. He went to talk about statistics – the alarming number of crimes committed in America.

But all these will change come January 20, 2017 when he said that "safety will be restored."

Truth and nothing else

At a direct swipe against the Democrats, Trump said that America has to stop being politically correct. He said that if people want to listen to "carefully crafted lies" they won't get getting it at the Republican convention and expect it instead when the Democrat convention opens next week.

Then Trump began going into detail about the drastic increase of the crime incidents in the America:

  • Of the 50 largest cities, homicide incidents rose to 17%; biggest increase in 25 years
  • 50% increase in killings in the capital; near 60% in Baltimore.
  • Chicago had more than 2000 shooting incidents in 2016 and more than 3,600 since pres. Obama became President.
  • 50% increase in police officers being killed
  • 180,000 illegal immigrants ordered deported because of their criminal records but are now walking free
  • $19 trillion in debt and counting with 43 million Americans on food stamps

America's champion

With the statistics he mentioned, he talked about how people do not feel safe even in their homes. Trump portrayed himself as the person who could restore law and order in America and how he will be championing the American people when he takes his oath of office in 2017.

Trump also lamented about the slap on the wrist that Hillary Clinton received about her email server issue – which, according to Trump, showed how corrupt the Democrat nominee is.

In summary, the end goal is to put a Republican back in the White House. Defeat Hillary Clinton. And build a better America.
