'Dota 2' News: Massive Update 7.03 Brings Juggernaut's Arcana, Several Other Significant Hero-Specific Changes

'Dota 2's' Captains Mode also changed by Update 7.03

The enormous Update 7.03 is now live and ready to download for "Dota 2" and it brings several changes for the game's many heroes.

No hero is as significantly affected by Update 7.03 than the Juggernaut, as the new downloadable brings the long sought-after Arcana.

According to a recent post on the game's official website, players who equip Juggernaut's Arcana will gain access to new character animations and custom kill effects that show up whenever players are able to successfully eliminate enemy heroes using the Omnislash or critical strikes.

Gaining a Triple Kill or something that ranks higher than that will also cause a custom kill effect to show up on screen.

Even if not used for kills, Omnislash and Bladefury hits as well as critical strikes will still be shown differently with the Arcana equipped.

A Custom Dragon Spirit Emoticon has also been added.

Jakiro will also appear differently inside "Dota 2" with the latest update installed.

Gameplay-related changes have also been introduced for the other heroes inside the game.

For instance, some heroes such as Lone Druid and Ogre Magi have been nerfed slightly by Update 7.03, while others like Bane and Puck have been buffed up quite a bit.

The Monkey King has also been added to Captains Mode.

Speaking of Captains Mode, this too has been reworked by the developers. The updated Captains Mode will now allow teammates to put forth their suggestions for which heroes should be picked or banned and the Captain role can also be swapped faster.

Update 7.03 also reduces passive gold income by 10 percent. The cooldown time for Scan has also gone down from 270 to 210.

The stats of several items have also been changed, with Teleport Scrolls taking longer to cool down while Ultimate Orbs now cost a bit more.

More news about other updates that may be released for "Dota 2" should be made available in the near future.
