'Downton Abbey' Season 5 Spoilers: New Trailer Released (VIDEO)

"Downton Abbey" season 5 will soon be airing in the U.K., and fans in the U.S. will have to work even longer to see the new season. The new trailer for the upcoming season has officially been released, offering a glimpse into what awaits the Crawley family.

This season brings new faces to the show. Sue Johnston of "Waking the Dead" and "Coronation Street" will be joining the cast as the Dowager Countess's lady's maid. Of course, with the Dowager Countess, anything is possible, so it will be interesting to see how she gets along with her new maid, Denker. Richard E. Grant has also signed on to play an art historian named Simon Bricker. Finally, Anna Chancellor will portray Lady Anstruther, the woman that Jimmy the footman previously worked for.

Fans already know that Lady Rose will be leaving at the end of the season, but she will not be killed off. Creator Julian Fellowes has already promised that there will be no deaths this season, allowing fans to breathe a sigh of relief. And speaking of comings and goings, there is a rumor that O'Brien may be returning to the Abbey.

Lady Edith will still have issues surrounding the adoption of her baby last season. It will be interesting to see if her secret is revealed this season, given all of the closeness and tension Lady Edith has been feeling. Plus, Lady Mary will finally make a decision about who to begin courting … and possibly marrying.

Meanwhile, Anna and Bates still have their own problems to deal with. Anna has suspicions that her husband killed the man who raped her, but with little to no proof, all she has are her assumptions. When the upcoming season airs, the couple will be in a better place but Anna will still have her doubts of her husband's innocence.

Fans in the United States, rejoice! There may be the chance that U.S. viewers will get the opportunity to watch the series at the same time as those in the U.K.

"I want to have simultaneous transmission in America and Britain," Fellowes told the Telegraph. "The BBC have shown it can be done because they did it with 'Doctor Who,' so all this talk that it's impossible is wrong."
