With the song "Time to Say Goodbye" by Lauren Aquilina playing in the background, the trailer opens with Lord Grantham speaking to Mr. Carson. "If I could stop history in its tracks, maybe I would. But I can't, Carson, for neither you nor I can hold back time." It also showed glimpses of Lady Mary, Lady Edith, Anna, Thomas and the Dowager Countess.

Mr. Carson was also seen packing up a suitcase and removes his nameplate. It has brought wonders on whether he will really be leaving Downton. Some speculate that he and Mrs. Hughes are just moving into a new home after their wedding. But with his sad disposition, there's more to his leaving, although sources say the couple will have a happy ending.

The middle Crawley daughter, Edith, is seen smiling, talking to an unidentified man. It appears that she will have a love interest in the final series, perhaps giving her a break from bad lucks and a happy ending after everything that happened including the death of her lover Michael Gregson. She will also be taking on the responsibilities of running a London-based magazine left to her by Michael.

A moment between Lady Mary and handmaiden Anna was also showcased and it appeared like they were talking about the times they have been through. According to Day Herald, something big is in store for Michelle Dockery's character. There are speculations that she may find a new love in the upcoming season.

Fans can catch more of the story of "Downton Abbey" on Jan. 3, 2016 in the United States and Sept. 20, 2015 in the United Kingdom.
