Popular televangelist and charismatic preacher Joel Osteen will go on “The Dr. Oz Show” Thursday to talk about the healing power of prayer, including groundbreaking research on the practice conducted by the show's host.

Dr. Oz will also reveal research he participated in at hospitals a number of years ago that examine the power of faith and prayer.

Osteen often promotes the connection between spiritual and physical health in his sermons, and is expected to provide a perspective on his own experiences on the Emmy Award-winning show.

Victoria Osteen, the wife of the Houston Lakewood Church pastor, will also share with audience members strategies for believing in themselves and using the power of prayer to get through the rough times.

“The Dr. Oz Show” has audiences in more than 112 countries and has won many awards, including the Emmy for Best Informative Talk Show in 2011.
