'Dragon Ball Z: Worst Wish Ever' News: Movie Slated for 2015 Release, Goku to Fight Evil Version of Himself?

A new Dragon Ball Z movie is going to be released during the Golden Week string of holidays in the spring of 2015.

In an interview with Shueisha's V Jump magazine, Dragon Ball Z creator Akira Toriyama said that the film will tell a new story. The manga creator also promised that there will be a lot of action scenes, and though he remained tight-lipped about the plot, he said that it will be very funny. Toriyama also mentioned that his latest work gained a lot of positive feedback from his first manga editor, which meant a lot to him since the editor reportedly is not in the habit of giving praise.

Japnation AniManga speculates that the plot would be about Goku wishing to fight someone like him so he could train better and ultimately, become a better warrior. Shenron would create a new Goku, but this Goku would be evil. The report goes on to say that a lot of the funny lines will be coming from evil Goku, who would not be "Frieza" evil, but rather a meaner version of Goku, similar to Vegeta.

According to Dragon Ball Wikia, the film will be set after the events of the last Dragon Ball movie, "Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods."

In other news, "Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods" will be available on DVD/BD combo pack form, DVD standalone, and Digital HD will be released on Oct. 7. Fandompost reports that the DVD/BD combo will have two versions of the film—the uncut version with twenty minutes of never before seen footage, and the theatrical version.
