Willie Robertson was invited to Tuesday's event at the U.S. Congress building as a guest of Vance McAllister (R-Swartz), a freshman congressman whom Willie helped campaign for in a November run-off election against State Sen. Neil Riser (R-Columbia). Wife Korie Robertson was invited as a guest of South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham.

Media coverage of Tuesday's event, as well as photos posted on social media, show Willie and Korie were popular celebrity figures among lawmakers, especially those on the Republican side of the House chamber. One photo posted to social media shows the couple posing with Rep. Ryan, chairman of the House Budget Committee.

NBC political correspondent Kelly O'Donnell said during a live airing of the event that the Robertsons brought "a real celebrity feeling" to the political gathering, showing how "pop culture and political life collide." Willie Robertson wore his classic outfit of an American flag bandana and blazer to Tuesday evening's event, while his wife Korie opted for a conservative outfit that included a green skirt, black boots, black blouse and white jacket.

The couple also posed for a photo with conservative television host Sean Hannity, Sen.
