DWTS is casting former Idol contestant, Kellie Pickler, for its upcoming series in a move which sees the dancing reality TV contest invite its first American Idol celebrity to compete on the show.
Two of the biggest reality shows on American TV are reportedly crossing over, according to celebrity rumor website TMZ, after the site reportedly learned the identities of four contestants lined up for the next season of Dancing With the Stars.
According to the publication, DWTS has confirmed former Idol contestant Kellie Pickler - who appeared on season five of American Idol - to feature in its next line up.
The other three contestants revealed to TMZ are country star Wynonna Judd, "Bachelor" star Sean Lowe and 2012 Olympic gold medal winning gymnast Aly Raisman.
A Dancing With the Stars rep has reportedly told TMZ: "We do not comment on casting rumors, but tune in to 'GMA' on Tuesday when we reveal the cast live!"
However, the celebrity news site is confident its sources have revealed some of the contestants millions of Americans will be cheering on in the upcoming season.
Raisman will immediately be installed as one of the favorites for this year's crown if she is to appear on the show. The Team USA olympic gymnast gold medalist would be the fourth former Olympian to win the show if she managed to take the title this year.
Dancing with the Stars is a dance competition show airing on ABC. The show is the American version of the hit British television series of the same format called "Strictly Come Dancing."
Tom Bergeron is the Emmy-winning host of Th. show, and most recently presented the contest with Brooke Burke Charvet.
In the show the celebrity contestant is paired with a professional dancer, and the pairs attempt to progress to the final by avoiding elimination each week.
Past celebrity contestants include professional and Olympic athletes, supermodels, actors, singers, and astronauts.
Each couple performs predetermined dances and competes against the others for judges' points and audience votes. The couple receiving the lowest combined total of judges' points and audience votes is eliminated each week until only the champion dance pair remains.
