'DWTS' Pro Mark Ballas Talks About New Music Career, Inspired by Girlfriend BC Jean?

No doubt about it, "Dancing With the Stars" pro dancer Mark Ballas is one very busy guy. Not only is he taking the time to partner and coach "Duck Dynasty" star Sadie Robertson for season 19 of DWTS, but he is also on the cusp of a flourishing career in music.

Ballas just released his first EP, "Kicking Clouds" on iTunes two weeks ago, and it broke onto the Top 40 Pop chart in its first week. He has also just released the music video for a single off the album titled "Miss Incredible."

In an interview with WetPaint, Ballas talked about how it felt to finally release an album of his very own.

"It's really nice. It's bittersweet to finally have it out there. I've been working on it for a while," said Ballas. "I've been making songs for the past two years, and the reason it took so long is I'm juggling a lot of things with the show and other stuff, I always wanted to ensure that every time I went to the studio I was 100 percent focused."

It looks like the 28-year old has his career clearly on top of his priorities, along with his girlfriend, Britney Jean Carlson, also known as BC Jean. A singer and songwriter and actress, Jean is known for penning one of Beyonce's hits, "If I Were a Boy" and she also starred in the web series "Talent."

It seems like the multi-talented Jean has inspired her boyfriend to make some music. One particular song on the album, "Miss Incredible," is described by Ballas as "an anthem for women."

"We wanted to deliver a sweet, serious, and inspiring message, but also make it fun and funky with the dancing and the live performance," Ballas said.
