The 23-second teaser was sent via the game's Twitter page, informing fans the upcoming title would delve into protagonist Faith Connor's journey.

The first-person game follows the adventures of Faith as she makes her way through the futuristic City of Glass. Players take on the character of Faith, who traverses the city using parkour maneuvers, while completing missions, steering clear of enemies, or knocking others off their feet.

Players will have access to zip-lines and ledges across the tops of buildings, and turn on Faith's "runner vision" once they mark an objective on their in-game map. "Runner vision" will also allow players to view items marked in red, indicating whether a structure can be hurdled, and as a guide to lead them towards their goal to complete a mission.

Unlike the previous game with its multiple levels and linear gameplay, the upcoming "Catalyst" will put Faith in a free-roaming open-world environment, giving players the option to use several pathways to reach their objective.

The guns from the previous game have been removed altogether, focusing more on Faith's running and parkour abilities to avoid opponents, or to launch rapid melee-style attacks on them.

"Catalyst" will also have a multiplayer feature in which player actions affect the open-world for other players.

"Mirror's Edge: Catalyst" is scheduled for release on Feb. 23, 2016 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
