'Elementary' Spoilers, News: Showrunner Rob Doherty Teases Details on Season 4 Premiere
One of the most awaited plotline developments in the 4th season of CBS' hit TV series "Elementary" would involve the arrival of Sherlock's (Jonny Lee Miller) old man in New York which according to earlier reports, won't particularly please the sleuth.
Speaking to an earlier interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Rob Doherty said that "Sherlock does not appreciate the attention or the distraction that his dad represents."
Actor John Noble plays Sherlock's father, Mr. Morland Holmes, whose issue with his son pertains to a "very complicated history."

"I'd say for at least a couple decades, Sherlock's father has been out of sight, out of mind. This is going to be a big adjustment for Sherlock to have dad nearby," Doherty told EW.
But what exactly is the reason behind such indifference between the father and son of which during the season opener will be manifested through their "very icy exchange?"
Doherty revealed, this time with TVLine, that it "certainly has to do with the one member of the Holmes family that we have not met." And that is Sherlock's mother.
The Season 4 primer is also said to reveal Sherlock who is "in a dark place, and yet he is invested in a program that he knows can help him come through the other side."
The P.I. and his side-kick, Joan Watson (Lucy Liu), will also find themselves getting held up as N.Y.P.D. consultants following the suspension order given to them by the D.A. The agency, as previewed by the EP, still has to decide whether to press charges or forgo the incident involving Sherlock viciously beating Oscar (Michael Weston) in the Season 1 finale.
Bonus spoilers thrown by the showrunner indicates that followers of the show will also get to get a glimpse on Joan's family.
"In a lot of respects, her family situation is as complicated as Sherlock's," Doherty teased (via TVLine).
"Elementary" Season 4 premieres Thursday, November 5 at 10/9c on CBS.
