Emma Roberts Engaged to Boyfriend Evan Peters?

Emma Roberts may be taking her relationship with "American Horror Story" co-star Evan Peters to the next level, according to reports on Monday.

The actress and her boyfriend of almost two years allegedly got engaged after Peters proposed in New York City over the holidays with a pink gold and diamond ring, Extra reported.

Shortly thereafter, the jet-setting couple traveled to London to ring in the New Year.

News of the engagement arises just six months after Roberts was arrested on domestic violence charge after a fight with Peters at a Montreal hotel.

Consequently, the couple released a statement about the disturbance.

"It was an unfortunate incident and misunderstanding," said the statement, according to People. Ms. Roberts was released after questioning and the couple are working together to move past it."

A source close to the couple explained that the incident was a result of their intense love for one another.

"They're a couple young kids," the insider told Us Weekly. "Their romance is pretty extreme. They just behave in a way that's very passionate."

Furthermore, 26-year-old Peters said his 22-year-old girlfriend was "the love of my life" weeks after the incident.

Roberts, who is the niece of Julia Roberts, is very active on social media, but has not confirmed her engagement.

"Happy New Year everybody!!!! Let's make 2014 the best year yet," she wrote on Twitter on New Year's Day.

Nevertheless, a friend of the couple's, photographer Tyler Shields, has posted his congratulations to them and shared a picture.

"Congrats to @RobertsEmma and Evan Peters for getting Engaged this was the moment I knew he really loved her," the photographer posted to Twitter along with an image of Roberts midair reaching for Peters.

Roberts' rep said of the engagement: "We are not commenting or confirming," according to HollywoodLife.com. However, the actress was spotted with a ring on her left hand in New Orleans on Jan. 5.
