Eric Stonestreet Dating Charlize Theron? Actor Jokes About False Rumors

"Modern Family" star Eric Stonestreet acknowledged rumors that he is dating Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron while at the Emmys on Sunday.

Recent reports indicated that Stonestreet, 41, was introduced to Theron, 37, "by mutual friends in Los Angeles earlier this year," according to the Daily Mail.

"I'm offended that somebody thinks her taste is [that bad]," said Stonestreet while speaking to Access Hollywood on the red carpet ahead of the 64th Primetime Emmys.

"Do not insult my friend like that," the actor said laughingly when asked about Theron.

This is not the first time Stonestreet's love life made headlines.

"A few years ago it was Scarlett Johansson, then it was Mila Kunis, then Whoopi Goldberg, we were rumored to be dating for awhile," he joked.

Stonestreet added that the rumors surrounding him and Theron are not exactly bothering him though, and that he hopes the gossip might actually get the actress' attention.

"I'm hoping she sees the story and calls and says, 'Maybe we should have coffee … Maybe we should grab a little food,'" Stonestreet told Access Hollywood.

Moreover, the actor joked that rumors of his dating Theron were "starting to make Halle Berry jealous."

Stonestreet recently ended his longtime relationship with Katherine Toarkaz. While he is not dating Theron, the pair first met in Washington D.C. in April at the White House Correspondent's Association Dinner.

Meanwhile, Stonestreet's hit comedy series "Modern Family" garnered several Emmy Awards on Sunday, including Stonestreet's big win for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy. The actor beat his costars Ty Burrell, Jesse Ferguson, and Ed O'Neill as well as "New Girl" actor Max Greenfield and "Saturday Night Live" star Bill Hader for the coveted award.

"Ty, Ed, Jesse, Max, Bill- I love you all," Stonestreet said in his acceptance speech Sunday night. "You're amazing."
