Erica Mena and Bow Wow Split: Real Reason for Breakup After Miscarriage News

Erica Mena and Bow Wow have reportedly gone their separate ways just a little over a year after they went public with their relationship, and now their fans are wondering about the real reason for their split.

"Love & Hip Hop" star Erica Mena recently gave her fans a clue to what led to her rumored split from "CSI: Cyber" actor Bow Wow. In a post on Instagram, she said she was "infatuated" with her ex-lover's potential and failed to see that he did not live up to that potential, according to the International Business Times (IBT) UK.

Erica Mena and Bow Wow canceled their engagement after miscarriage news made their rounds on the Internet. The former couple was previously set to get hitched in April, and later on moved the supposed special day to summer. At the time, Bow Wow said he enjoyed their spontaneity and the fact that they have their "own rules," the report relays.

However, summer passed and no wedding happened. In August, the Internet was ablaze with rumors that the two broke up after Mena revealed that she had miscarried a few months ago. Weeks later, she posted a statement on Instagram that was interpreted to be the reason for her split from Bow Wow.

"I've got a bad habit of becoming infatuated with a person's potential. I get so intrigued by what they initially show me that I begin to imagine all the greatness that could come from it," the IBT quotes Mena's post on Instagram. "Never once stopping to think that, sometimes, people don't live up to their potential."

Bow Wow had earlier called out his ex-girlfriend for opening up to the public the loss of their unborn child. In an online post, he said what she did was a form of attention seeking. He added that she should not have revealed their loss, especially when it occurred five months ago, Design & Trend reports.

Erica Mena later on reacted to Bow Wow's comments, saying she was hurt with his words. However, neither of them have publicly confirmed that they are officially over.
