Eva Longoria is Beckham Baby's Godmother; Victoria and David Planning Christening

Eva Longoria has revealed that her best friend Victoria Beckham chose her to be her daughter's godmother.

"Victoria asked me to be Harper's Godmother and of course I said yes. I'm absolutely thrilled. Harper is simply adorable," Longoria told the Daily Mirror.

Beckham, 38, and her soccer star husband David, 37, welcomed baby Harper Seven into the world in July and recently approached Longoria, who has been a long time family friend, to be the 11-month-old's godmother.

"She is awesome, beautiful. She's a chunky monkey! She's so fashionable, the most fashionable little girl around. All I keep thinking about is the closet which that girl is going to inherit," Longoria told Cover Media.

The Beckhams, who currently live in Los Angeles, are reportedly planning a christening close to their Hertfordshire, U.K. home for baby Harper Seven later this summer.

Longoria is expected to attend to the event as are the godparents to two of Beckham's sons, singer Elton John and his partner David Furnish.

While the former "Desperate Housewives" actress appears to be in a good place with Beckham, reports suggest that her friendship with longtime friend Kim Kardashian appears to be rocky.

In April reports surfaced alleging that the reality TV personality began exchanging flirtatious text messages with Longoria's current boyfriend Eduardo Cruz, shortly after the couple briefly broke up before Longoria's birthday, according to In Touch Magazine.

Kardashian raised eyebrows in March when she did not attend Longoria's 37th birthday party, which some critics attributed to her alleged fling with Cruz and the 31-year-old quickly denied that she pounced on Cruz after he split from Longoria.

"I'm used to rumors & almost never address them. Buuuut…. It's not ok when magazines like InTouch involve my close friends in their made up stories," she wrote.

"They were told by multiple people that their current cover isn't true, but they decided to go ahead. & run it anyway. So there you have it," Kardashian posted on her blog.
