Ex-Addict Courtney Love Admits to Coaching Lindsay Lohan on Sobriety

Courtney Love is coaching Lindsay Lohan back to sobriety.

The Hole front woman, and notorious substance abuser, told the latest issue of Details magazine that she has provided guidance to help the fallen actress remain sober.

"I've taken up Lohan because nobody else will," said Love to Details. "[She's] further down the line than I was, because there was no [gossip websites like] TMZ then."

In an interview with TheFix earlier this year, Love revealed that she has helped Lohan through legal battles in the past. She said it is not uncommon for troubled celebrities to look to her for advice.

“It wasn’t that long ago when Kim Stewart was screaming, ‘Courtney, what are we going to do? Kelly Osbourne is blue on the floor!’ she said. “For some reason, Kim Stewart also called me when Paris Hilton got pulled over for her last DUI. … What am I, a junkie Auntie Mame?”

Although Love, 47, is boasting of her willingness to provide guidance for the troubled stars, a representative for Lohan denied that Love is a mentor in any capacity.

“Courtney is not, nor has she ever been, Lindsay’s sobriety coach. This story is completely untrue,” said Lohan’s representative to the Daily News.

Love, who claims to be sober since a 2007 stint in rehab, said the best way to help Lohan-who was recently released from a jail stint-would be to use her own pass antics as an example and scared-straight tactics.

“I went up to Lindsay’s room one time and there was a show on called ‘101 Celebrity Oops’ and I am like every other one, you know – boobs out, legs everywhere, throwing s–t at Madonna, you know, whatever. I’m like ‘Lindsay, look! Drugs are bad!’”

Despite the denial from Lohan’s camp, there is no ‘love’ lost between the two celebrity gal-pals.

“Lindsay is, however, grateful for her friendship,” said Lohan’s representative to E! Online.
